My name is Tim Westphal, President of Lakeside Investigations, LLC. In the course of my Law enforcement Career and in the course of conducting routine road patrol activities, I have spent approximately 13 years conducting Motor Carrier (Truck) Enforcement and am currently a "Level 1" inspector. My training includes Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, Federal Motor Carrier Rules & Regulations, Size & Weight, Light duty truck & small trailers, Hazmat, and annual Motor Carrier Update Schools to keep up with the ever changing truck laws.
The idea behind offering a "Trucklaw" consulting service was to assist businesses in training their employee's in the correct way to perform a daily pre-trip inspection before taking the commercial vehicle on the road. I also assist business owners, managers, and supervisors in what they need to know about the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, and Federal Motor Carrier Rules and Regulations in how it relates to its driver's and company commercial vehicles. I assist these businesses in identifying what vehicles they own which fall under these "Trucklaw's" and what licensing requirements their driver's need to fulfill.
This seminar I would be conducting for a perspective client would be conducted in one day and would consist of a lecture, followed by hands-on practical exercises to strengthen the proficiency of each driver in pre-trip and supplemental inspections which would be routinely performed by the company driver's on a daily basis. I would also provide company management with suggestions on monitoring the employee performance in conducting the daily pre trip inspection, record keeping, and how to verify if a pre-trip was done by its driver's.
